New Orleans Beautiful is an independent local discovery, news-linking and community website. This policy explains the information the site may process when you browse, create an account, submit a place, join the email list, contact us about partnerships, or participate in community discussions.

Information you choose to provide

Account registration, community posts and replies, place suggestions, newsletter signups and partnership forms may include your name, username, email address and the content you submit. Community posts and replies are intended to be public. Administrative submissions and signup records are private to site administrators unless you separately authorize publication.

Local news aggregator

The local-news section retrieves headlines and limited feed metadata from third-party publishers and links readers to the original publisher. New Orleans Beautiful does not intentionally republish full third-party articles. When you follow an external link, the destination publisher’s privacy practices apply.

Location and maps

Map pages may offer a “Near Me” or browser-location feature. Browser geolocation is requested only when you choose to use it. The theme does not need to permanently store your precise location to show nearby results.

Cookies and account sessions

WordPress may use cookies for login sessions, comments, security and preferences. Embedded content, analytics, advertising, maps and other services may set their own cookies when those services are enabled by the site administrator.

Analytics, advertising and external services

The site may use services such as analytics, advertising platforms, map tiles, email delivery providers and anti-spam/security tools. Those providers may receive technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, referrer and page activity as required to provide their services. Authorized advertising sellers are published through the site’s ads.txt endpoint when configured.

Community moderation

To operate the subscriber discussion area, the site may retain account identifiers, thread and reply history, voting activity, moderation status and anti-abuse timing records. Administrators may remove or restrict content that violates site rules, applicable law or platform safety requirements.

Retention

Aggregated news records are automatically removed according to the configured retention window. Form submissions, account records and community content may be retained for operational, security, editorial and legal purposes until they are no longer needed. Administrators can delete records from WordPress when appropriate.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing email, stop using browser geolocation, update your WordPress profile, and contact the site administrator to ask about information associated with your account or a private form submission. Public community posts may remain visible where retention is necessary for conversation integrity, moderation or legal reasons.

Children

The community is not designed as a service directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information for a child through public community features.

This policy may be updated as the site adds or changes services. The date shown on the page reflects the current published version.
